Mallards of Brookside (MOB) vs MOB!!!!

🦆 MOB vs MOB

ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE???

Thank you to all of you who have declared your swimmers!

We have a great showing. If you meant to declare your swimmer, but missed the window- text me 209-608-4125 with your swimmers name so we can squeeze them in.

We'll have Costco pizza tomorrow night so take a break from cooking healthy meals and hang out til the end!

Job signups.

In MOB vs MOB we need TWICE the number of volunteers!

It's our practice meet so we have the time and space to make mistakes as we learn- So jump in! The waters warm!

We are short 9 timers! Super simple job. We need 3 for the first half and 6 for the second half.

We would love to have an announcer or two and a head judge. (We also need a head judge for the first and second halves)- it sounds scary, but you just watch to see who touches first, second and third and check that off- you also get a seat in the shade at the finish line.

I have opened up job signups to you have time to log in and volunteer.

All meet declarations are open now. (not just this week).

I'll close them the day before so that coaches can get rosters ready.

This way you all can do this at one time rather than logging in over and over.

Let me know if you need me to remove your swimmer if you can't make it.

Better to sign up and cancel than to not sign up at all.

Reminders about declaring swimmers

You should be able to "declare" your swimmer. This means that your swimmer will be there on meet day. Declaring allows the coaches to chose your swimmer for different meet events. The ability to sign up closes the day before at 12 noon so that coaches can finalize the rosters and share them with the other team and the league. (this means you won't be able to sign your kid up after 6/8 at noon) for the next race. If you make an error, or can't come after declaring, let me or the coaches know and we can correct it in the app. (209) 608-4125. texts are welcome- please be patient with me.

Job Signups

You can sign up for anything except stroke and turn since that requires training. Everything else sounds daunting but is super simple and can be taught in 30 seconds or less. Time me!

We have practice in the AM on meet days.

Volunteer Coordinator

This year Hanh Phan will be acting as our volunteer coordinator. She will be the point of contact so you know where you should be, what you will need and how you need to do things.

She still looks like this:

Pro tips:

There is a concession stand- proceeds go to the HOA. We are not allowed to sell anything on site. They should have drinks, ramen and ice cream.

Hats, sunglasses, coolers, extra chairs, snacks, popsicles, liquids will keep swimmers and spectators perky. Consider a canopy for shade. The HOA wants us to spread out a bit so that the pool deck is less cluttered.

On the day of the meet, you can find the events and heats on the swimtopia site and on paper on the wall of the pool area. A sharpie to write your kids events and heats helps parents and kids know when their event will start.

Family t-shirts

Hanh will also have a few options of tshirts colors and styles that you can order since there was a lot of parent interest in shirts this year. All profits off the shirts go to our team.

We're pricing them at $25 and I'm going to try to set up zelle and venmo for payments.

Thank you all in advance for your participation! We'll figure this out together!
