🦆 What a wonderful kickoff to the 2026 Mallards of Brookside Summer Season

Dear Mallards Families,

There were so many new faces yesterday, and with a few still joining but missing the first post we wanted to reach out.

We now have 68 swimmers!

First Day of Practice: Monday, May 4th

By now most of the new swimmers have been sorted into ducklings or mallard teams. 

We will still continue sorting at the beginning of practice for the rest of the week. 

Second Day of Practice: Tuesday, May 5th

You weren't imagining it! It WAS cold. The pool temp was 75 degrees. We have spoken to the HOA who increased the temp to 80 degrees this morning. 

It is still pretty chilly out, so please bring towels and consider swim parkas to keep swimmers warm. If you don't feel well get out of the pool and tell a coach or an adult. 

Additional reminders: 

If you have a swimmer under 10, please make sure an adult stays poolside until practice is over. 

The HOA wants to check the poolside furniture and clean it off. Once that is done, we can use it as long as we stack it nicely back as we found it. In the meantime, please bring chairs or something to sit on!

Let coaches know if you'll miss practice. 

Updates for swimmers who joined in the last week. 

Schedule:

• 5:30 PM – 6:15 PM: 9 & Under
• 6:15 PM – 6:45 PM: Ducklings
• 6:45 PM – 7:45 PM: 10 & Up

Team Gear

Our swimsuit partner, Lindy will be at practice Wednesday, May 6 for on-site swimsuit fittings. If you’re interested in purchasing a team suit, please have your swimmer get fitted before your swimmer jumps in the water at their practice time. It's hard to get those suits on and off over wet skin!

Registration: 

We'll keep registration open through the end of this week so let your friends know! We need to close it so that we can get all of your swimmers names onto our shirts. 

If you weren't given an option for which shirt your swimmer wears please let me know

Paying with checks:

If you have checks for registration- please get them to any one of the board members, or a coach if you don't know who we are!

If you know anyone who wants to sponsor, we have agreed we can make a banner to promote their business and we can put them in the magazine space that we reserve at our City meet! Please let us know if there are any interested parties!
